Announcements of pet-related events, such as free seminars and fundraising events are encouraged. There is no fee for these submissions. Send in your announcement not more than four months prior to the date of the event. Submissions are limited to three per month per organization and can be posted through the website via Submit an Event.

 

Pet Rock Festival

Sunday, September 12, 2010 - 12 pm to 5 pm
Location: Quinsigamond Community College, 670 West Boylston St., Worcester, MA

Pet Rock is the largest animal expo on the East Coast. A daylong festival of fundraising fun for the entire family, including your dog, Pet Rock's primary purpose is to promote responsible pet ownership, bring attention to animal cruelty and educate humans on a variety of animal related issues. Proceeds benefit New England animal welfare organizations. Cost: $12 Adults, $5 Kids, Dogs free!

Barktoberfest

Sunday, September 26th 2010 - 11am to 3pm

Location: 4-H Fairgrounds, Westford, MA (rain or shine)

Dog lovers take notice it's the 10th anniversary of Barktoberfest, the ONLY event that raises money for medical care, training and supplies for the invisible dogs in town pounds. Raise money by taking a "Walk Fur Dogs" (with or without a pooch). Enter the Best Trick, Best Booty Wiggle, Oldest, Fastest Sit, and Highest Jump dog contests. A variety of fun events scheduled include demonstrations on First Aid and Obedience. Temperament Testing and Canine Good Citizenship held by the North Shore Kennel Club. Try your paw at paw painting. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome! Your donations are tax-deductible!

TTouch consists of light, non-invasive massage movements and guided walking exercises designed to enhance the mental, emotional and physical wellbeing of your dog, cat or other companion animal. TTouch exercises improve an animal's confidence, balance and focus, relieve stress and fear, and allow thinking before reacting, thus breaking the cycle of repetitive behavior patterns.
